ADULT LIVE ONLINE CONVERSATIONAL PROGRAM 

Our Adult classes are designated to teach conversational Spanish that focuses on your community, work, and travel needs; and help you become a confident speaker. Each class is focused seventy-five percent on conversation and twenty-five percent on grammar. In each course students will also learn about Latin American traditions, etiquette and history.  

Our main goal is to help students quickly learn useful vocabulary that they can use at work, community and travel needs. In addition, help our students gain speaking, listening and writing skills; and optimize conversation skills based on individualized goals, interests, and needs.  

GROUP CLASSES -STARTING SUMMER 2021

Our classes are intended for participants over the age of 17, although some exceptions can be made. In each class and level students work on their conversation, listening comprehension, reading, and writing skills. The program is divided into 16 courses (Basic Spanish I, II, III, IV, Intermediate Spanish I, II, III and IV, Advanced Spanish I, II, III, IV and High Advanced I, II, III, IV,). Each course consists of 10 week sessions in a small class ratio setting of 6 students per 1 teacher. Please see our class schedule.  

 

CLASS STRUCTURE  

The classroom structure of the adult Spanish language program is based on conversation skills. Classes are LIVE ONLINE and meet 2xweek for 45 minutes via our WHEREBY/GOOGLE MEET/ZOOM Platform. Each 10 week session will place a strong focus on: expressive communication, language structure, vocabulary, and comprehension.

COST (GROUP LESSON) 

Each course cost is $450 (10 weeks), 4 Sessions per year (October-September). We offer a 10% discount for accounts paid in full for the year (October-September) and for Police Officers, Fire fighters, and Military Personnel. Also, we ask students to purchase one textbook that will be use for the 3 levels (basic, intermediate, and advanced.) An additional book will be required for the superior levels.

BOOK  

The cost of the book is $60 and can be shipped to the student or is available for pick up  Monday-Friday 9 AM-1PM or 4-7 PM.

The E-book is FREE.  

COST (1:1 PRIVATE LESSONS) 

Each class cost is $55 for 1-20 classes/year, $45 for 21-30 classes/year, $35 for 31-40 classes/year & $30 for 41+ classes/year.

Our highly dynamic, qualified and experienced teachers that are certified with Masters Degrees in Spanish Literature and Spanish Linguistics. Our teachers have multi-cultural experience abroad and locally. They excel at fostering positive learning environments for adult learners with over 20 years of experience.  

PLACEMENT TEST  

If you are not sure which course is right for you, we offer a placement test. The test will be emailed you and once you complete it return it to us via email for one of our teachers to correct it and make the appropriate recommendation.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

BASIC I

This is a 10-week course for students, who have little or no prior knowledge of Spanish. Basic I emphasizes on basic conversation in the present and everyday vocabulary. Grammar topics will include present tense verbs, word order, interrogatives, subject pronouns, negations, pronunciation, and singular indefinite form nouns.

 

BASIC II

This is a 10-week course for students who have the knowledge of the concepts learned in course Basic I or for who have experience learning the Spanish language. Grammatically, we focus on the present regular tense, the verb ser and conjugation of regular verbs in the present indicative (ar,er, ir.)

 

BASIC III

This is a 10-week course for students, who have the knowledge of the concepts learned in Basic II. Basic III concentrates on simple dialogues and engaging in spontaneous conversations. Grammatically, we focus on more comprehensive study of conjugations, the verbs ser vs. estar and the verbs (i.e. gustar/tener/hacer.)

 

BASIC IV

This is a 10-week course is for students who have already learned the basic foundations in beginning courses and ready for further practice with an interest in travel. Grammatically, we will review greetings and introductions and will focus intensely on the verbs (querer/tener/haber/gustar.)

 

INTERMEDIATE I

This is a 10-week course is for students who have completed the Basic level or 1 year of college Spanish. Intermediate I concentrates on discussions about festive days. Grammatically, we will focus on reflective verbs to express change of emotions, past tense verbs, preterit irregular verbs and superlative adjectives.

INTERMEDIATE II

This is a 10-week course is for students who have completed the Basic level or 1 year of college Spanish and Intermediate level I. This conversation class concentrates on dialogues about spare time and health. Grammatically, we will focus on double verbs (tener que + & deber +,) use of por, verb gustar, reflective verbs, present perfect and imperfect irregular tense.

 

INTERMEDIATE III

This is a 10-week course is for students who have completed the Basic level or 1 year of college Spanish and Intermediate level II. This conversation class concentrates on discussions about modern life pressures. Grammatically, we will focus on adverbs, para versus por and imperfect preterit.

 

INTERMEDIATE IV

This is a 10-week course is for students who have completed the Basic level or 2 semesters of college Spanish and Intermediate level III. This conversation class will concentrate on quality of life. Grammatically, we will focus on the verbs ser/estar/haber , present subjunctive and irregular/regular verbs.

 

ADVANCED I

This is a 10-week course is for students who have completed the Intermediate level or 3 semesters of college Spanish. This conversation class will concentrate on Art and Culture. Grammatically, we will focus on the verb gustar, perfect preterit and subjunctive versus indicative.

ADVANCED II

This is a 10-week course is for students who have completed the Intermediate level or 3 semesters of college Spanish and Advanced level I. This conversation class will concentrate on the environment. Grammatically, we will concentrate on the verb to be/ estar, adverbial clauses, perfect preterit and subjunctive indicative.

 

ADVANCED III

This is a 10-week course is for students who have completed the Intermediate level or 3 semesters of college Spanish and Advanced level II. This conversation class will focus on work and social life. Grammatically, we will focus on the verbs on future tense, adverbial clauses, perfect preterit and subjunctive indicative.

 

ADVANCED IV

This is a 10-week course is for students who have completed the Intermediate level or 3 semesters of college Spanish and Advanced level III. This conversation class will concentrate on current events and abroad. Grammatically, we will focus on pronouns and possessive adjectives, adverbial clauses, nominal clauses and adjectival clauses.

 

HIGH ADVANCED I

This is a 10-week course is for students who have completed the advanced level or 4 semesters of college Spanish or have lived in a Spanish speaking country for at least 1 year. This conversation class will concentrate on identity and intercultural relations. Grammatically, we will focus on tenses and subjunctive mood.

HIGH ADVANCED II

This is a 10-week course is for students who have completed the advanced level or 4 semesters of college Spanish or have lived in a Spanish speaking country for at least 1 year. This conversation class will concentrate on around the world and nutrition. Grammatically, we will focus on tenses and subjunctive mood.

 

HIGH ADVANCED III

This is a 10-week course is for students who have completed the advanced level or 4 semesters of college Spanish or have lived in a Spanish speaking country for at least 1 year. This conversation class will concentrate on human rights. Grammatically, we will focus on tenses and subjunctive mood.

 

HIGH ADVANCED IV

This is a 10-week course is for students who have completed the advanced level or 4 semesters of college Spanish or have lived in a Spanish speaking country for at least 1 year. This conversation class will concentrate on globalization and technology. Grammatically, we will focus on tenses and subjunctive mood.
