ADULT CONVERSATIONAL PROGRAM:

(GROUP IN-PERSON & PRIVATE ONLINE)

Our Adult recreational program is designated to teach conversational Spanish that focuses on your community, work, and travel needs; and help you become a confident speaker. Each class is focused seventy-five percent on conversation and twenty-five percent on grammar. In each course students will also learn about Latin American traditions, etiquette, and history.  

 

Our classes are intended for participants over the age of 17. In each class and level students work on their conversation, listening comprehension, reading, and writing skills.

Our main goal is to help students quickly learn useful vocabulary that they can use at work, community, and travel needs. In addition, help our students gain speaking, listening, and writing skills; and optimize conversation skills based on individualized goals, interests, and needs.

GROUP IN-PERSON & REMOTE LIVE ONLINE BEGINNER LEVEL I(a-b) CLASSES - This program is divided into 2 introductory beginner level classes for adults who have never taken Spanish before (Ia) and for who have taken basic Spanish classes recently or took it in the past and are returning (Ib.) Each course is this program consists of 10-week sessions of 1.5 hours in an IN-PERSON or REMOTE LIVE ONLINE small class ratio setting of 6-8 students per 1 teacher. SEPTEMBER-JUNE PROGRAM

SEMIPRIVATE IN-PERSON BEGINNER II (a-b) -BEGINNER IV (a-d) LEVEL CLASSES -This program is divided into 8 beginner level courses for adults who are focusing in developing speaking and listening skills to a proficient basic level (II a-b, III a-b & IV a-d.) Each course consists of 10-week sessions of 1 hour in an IN-PERSON or REMOTE LIVE ONLINE small class ratio setting of 2-4 students per 1 teacher.  SEPTEMBER-JUNE PROGRAM

SEMIPRIVATE IN-PERSON INTERMEDIATE I (a-d) LEVEL CLASSES -This program is divided into 4 courses for adults who are focusing in developing speaking and listening skills to a proficient low intermediate level (Intermediate Ia-d.) Each course consists of 10-week sessions of 1 hour in an IN-PERSON ONLY a small class ratio setting of 2 students per 1 teacher. SEPTEMBER-JUNE PROGRAM

LIVE ONLINE CONVERSATION LABS: Students who are enrolled in our IN-PERSON GROUP or SEMIPRIVATE adult classes have the OPTION of adding extra 10 x30-minute private live online classes at a discounted price. This is highly recommended as it gives more opportunities to practice, expand and master conversation skills.

PRIVATE 1:1 LIVE ONLINE CLASSES FOR ALL LEVELS: 

Our private live online classes are for students who are looking for

flexible hours Monday-Friday between 8:00 AM-8PM and Saturday 

8:00 AM-12 PM. Our 45-minute conversation online classes focus. 

completely on vocabulary acquisition, pronunciation, and various

topics that each student wishes to focus on (education, medical, etc.)

GROUP CLASS STRUCTURE  

The classroom structure of the adult Spanish language program is based on conversation skills. Classes are IN-PERSON and meet once a week for 10 weeks for 1-1.5 hours. Students have the OPTION of taking 10 additional 1:1 conversational lab via live online with a private instructor.

COST (GROUP LESSON) 

Each course cost is $445 IN-PERSON (10 weeks) & $345 ONLINE (10 weeks) per session. We offer a $30 Early Bird Discount. Also, we ask students to purchase one textbook that will be used for our basic-intermediate level classes.

PRIVATE ONLINE CLASS STRUCTURE  

Our private 1:1 ONLINE classes are 45-minute sessions offered Monday-Friday between 8:00 AM-8PM and Saturday 8:00 AM-12 PM. Students meet with a live tutor via ZOOM or GOOGLE MEET at a time and day that works best for them. Classes can be scheduled with a set time and day or can be scheduled weekly based on availability.

COST (1:1 LIVE ONLINE PRIVATE CLASSES) 

We offer 13-52 class packages of 45-minute sessions. The cost for 13 classes is $403, 26 classes is $780, 39 classes is $1131 and 52 classes is $1456. FREE TRIAL CLASS AVAILABLE

PLACEMENT TEST  

If you are not sure which course is right for you, we offer a placement test. The test will be emailed you and once you complete it return it to us via email for one of our teachers to correct it and make the appropriate recommendation.

 ​​​COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

​

BASIC I (a-b)

This is a 20-week course for students, who have little or no prior knowledge of Spanish or have taken basic Spanish classes recently. Basic Ia emphasizes on the alphabet/numbers, basic conversation for greetings, describing yourself and others, telling time and expressing likes and dislikes. Basic 1b emphasizes in academic environment vocabulary, pronunciation, singular and plural nouns/gender/articles, express actions (verbs that end in -ar and form questions in several ways.

 

BASIC II (a-b)

This is a 20-week course for students who have the knowledge of the concepts learned in course Basic I or for who have experience learning the Spanish language. Themes include a continuation of counting and time, address, phone numbers, age, daily shopping, clothes and colors. Grammatically, we focus on the present regular tense, the verb ser, conjugation of regular verbs in the present indicative (i.e. ar, er, ir,) express actions using the verbs: tener/venir/poder/preferer/querer and express to go(-ir +a.)

 

BASIC III (a-b)

This is a 20-week course for students, who have the knowledge of the concepts learned in Basic II. Basic III concentrates on simple dialogues and engaging in spontaneous conversations. Themes include home, weather, geography and seasons. Grammatically, we focus on more on reflextive verbs to talk about your daily routines, express actions using the verbs: hacer/oir/poner, traer/ver, comprehensive study of the verbs ser vs. estar, present progressive and prepositions of place.

 

BASIC IV (a-d)

This is a 40-week course is for students who have already learned the basic foundations in beginning courses and ready for further practice with an interest in travel. This conversation class focuses on the essential words and phrases needed for talk about food, travel abroad, leisure & festivities. Grammatically, we will focus intensely on the verbs: querer, tener, haber, and gustar. Thus, allowing students to form more complex sentences to express needs, wants, abilities and more. We will also learn formal commands, start talking about the past (the preterite,) learn more about asking questions & expressing the best and worst of a group (superlatives.

 

INTERMEDIATE I (a-d)

This is a 40-week course is for students who have completed the Basic level or minimum of 2 years of College Spanish. This conversation class will focus on the health, free time, artistic preferences, and things that cause stress. Grammatically, we will focus on using the preterite and the imperfect to talk about the past allowing students to use vocabulary to describe incidents, occurrences and things that put pressure in our everyday life, express subjective actions and states to express influence, describing and comparing hobbies, sports, and your health & review all of the uses of the subjunctive.

INTERMEDIATE II-IV

This is a private course via ONLINE or IN-PERSON is for students who have completed the Low Intermediate level or minimum of 3 years of college Spanish. This conversation class will focus on nature, environment, life, work & our country. Grammatically, we will focus on expressing in what you have done (present perfect,) describe people/places/things, express actions that depend on each other, express future plans and express what you would do.

ADVANCED

This is a private course via ONLINE or IN-PERSON is for students who have completed Intermediate level or 4 years of college Spanish.  This conversation class is designated to make you comfortable speaking Spanish in any scenario and will give you the tools to communicate effectively in any area.
