Part Time Teacher Assistant

All About Spanish is a full immersion language center for toddlers, kids, teens & adults. We are looking for a NATIVE-speaking Spanish teacher assistant  to assist classes of children in the AM Early Childhood Program & PM after-school program.

Teaching position is for the 2022/2023 school year.

Teaching assignments are made based on each teacher assistant’s availability and experience.

Qualifications:

• Teaching experience with children ages 3-13 (preferred)

• Native level proficiency in Spanish

• Conversational English

• Available for part-time work, Monday-Friday a (MUST), hours are between 8:30 AM-12:30 PM & 3:30-6:15 PM (Weekend is OPTIONAL), hours between 8:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m.

• Enjoys working with children between the ages of 3-13

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.A.

About the role:

• As an after-school instructor, you will follow a curriculum to teach Spanish including: Speaking, reading, listening and writing.

• Plan appropriate and educational enrichment activities

• Be prepared to implement the lesson plans in our curriculum and activities for each day

• Be punctual.

• Welcome and supervise the work of volunteers & service learning students assigned to your group.

• Successfully implement the FULL SPANISH IMMERSION model!

• Instructors must be available to work between 28-32 hours per week. Each class is between 2-3 hours long.

• Classes take place in our facility only.

Qualifications and Skills

• Candidates will be quick learners, adaptable, intelligent, outgoing, and dependable and have a good attitude.

• Experienced in teaching Spanish or Assisting in Teaching Spanish to children

• We love instructors with experience leading groups of school age kids! Must have the ability to relate well to children (parents as well as other staff members).

• Reliability – We need someone with a 10 month commitment during the school year and 6 weeks during the summertime (Optional)

• Someone with a sense of humor and flexibility.

• You should be polite and comfortable speaking with  students and school staff.

• You need to have a positive attitude, enjoy being a team player, and have an outgoing and energetic personality

• Willing and able to pass a background check

• Must live in area or live within 30 minutes’ drive from Nassau County

• US citizen or permanent residents only

Job Type: Part-time (14-32 hours per week, number of hours depends on availability-MUST BE AVAILABLE MONDAY- FRIDAY & SAT )

Salary: $16/hour.

Required experience:

• Teaching Assisting/Instruction: 3-5 years

Required education:

College preferred.
